RØDE PodMic USB Dynamic Broadcast Microphone with XLR and USB Connectivity for Podcasting, Streaming and Content Creation (White)

In this price range, this is the best option for most people, especially non-professionals and startups in my non-professional user opinion. The microphone is built like a tank with a very premium feel and uses both XLR and USB C, making it very versatile, especially when on the go. I was surprised by the quality of the internal DSP. There are no noticeable delays when using either the XLR or USB C outputs. It works flawlessly with both Mac OS and iOS and the Rhode software is solid across the board, though some aspects are a little confusing to a newbie. using the USB C output, you can get get that professional sound like the pro's get. I love the external custom pop filter, which many people will not even need but still a great option.Based on the quality of this product, I will likely be primarily buying Rode products going forward.

Vocal quality is very good, I think it easily competes with higher end microphones like the shure sm7b, it is crisp... It feels very dense, and solid, it's perfectly sized, and it just works flawlessly even after almost a year

The media could not be loaded. This is exactly the mic I’ve been wanting — the Rode PodMic USB looks super sleek in black and white, and it sounds amazing for my voiceovers. I’m using it with USB-C and it’s been super easy to set up.Paired it with the Elgato Low Profile arm and the combo just works. Great cable management, smooth movement, and doesn’t clutter my desk. The voiceover in my video was recorded with this mic — give it a listen!

I did a bit of research and found good reviews for this mic. People said it was high quality and it looked like it was. I ordered the mic, mic stand and pop filter all through amazon together for just about $320. I was using a blue yeti before for years but finally needed to get a new mic. The mic came and I set it up on the stand no problem although the usb-c wire they sent didn't work at all. So I ended up having to purchase my own usb-c wire. I got ones that were usb-c to usb-c and usb-c to just normal usb. They all worked but another issues persisted. I had a bit of trouble trying to get it to function using the software and everything but eventually made it work. The sound quality was much better than my previous mic and everything seemed awesome for a few days. The issue I began to have was the mic would just stop working while I was gaming. The only way to fix this was to unplug the mic and plug it back in which is very inconvenient especially when it could happen every 2-5 minutes or just once an hour with no warning. I contacted RODE support about the issue and thus begun the month process of being gaslit by them claiming it was my problem. I needed to send photos and videos of the mic working and not working and trying it out on different devices and using different cables. In the end nothing worked and I ended up finally getting them to allow me to send it back to them but not for a refund because they refused to refund me anything as it's not bought directly from them. I had to spend another $20 to ship it back to them and then just wait. Eventually I heard back and they didn't tell me anything about the mic or any issues but rather said they will try to send me a replacement but they didn't have any in stock. So I would have to wait even longer. Pretty quickly they got one in stock luckily and then I was sent the replacement mic in the mail. I set it up last night and gave it a try. Just like before the wire doesn't work but mine do. The program even though I had it set up before gave me problems. And the big kicker is that it is having the same exact issue as before where the mic just stops working and I have to unplug and replug it for it to work again. I did some research and found others have had many issues with this specific mic and with RODE's AWFUL customer support system. I HIGHLY recommend avoiding this mic and any RODE products for that matter. I am about $340 in the hole for this purchase and they refuse to refund me a dime.

Coming from my previous mic, being the AT2020USB+, it sounds so much clearer, has its own app to make adjustments needed for your environment or preference, has both USB C and XLR connection making it functional for both on the go use and at home setup use. Looks professional as well

Solid USB mic, quality I am expecting with the exception of the supplied USB-C…hot garbage. Would loved to have seen a quality USB-C cable, gold plated and more durable. The connection mine had failed within a month or so and I swapped it out for a quality cable and no issues.

Price is a bit high, and the headphone port can be a bit finicky as far as gain levels go since the dial on the back doesn't have start and end stops. The software or onboard processor can decide to make it a different gain level than you set it to (exacerbated by Windows' poor management of what apps can control mic levels). Once you get it all dialed in, it works without surprises or issues, but I wish I could disable monitoring through the headphones and switch to hearing the mix from my computer only.The mic looks and feels nice and premium, if a little prone to handling noises due to good but not great isolation. I love that the onboard processing means that it doesn't need to be connected to the same computer or software to sound consistent. This mic can be tuned using the desktop RØDE Central app to sound excellent for most voices. Every aspect of the PodMic is quite simple to use with the exception of that gain dial on the back and trying to balance both direct monitoring and mix levels, those take some fussing. Overall great product, I just wish it were about $180 instead of $200 for this quality and feature set.
