This water doodle mat is an interesting concept. You effectively just fill up these pens with water and when you wet the mat itself, it produces color. As it dries up, the drawing fades away. It makes for an activity that's almost entirely mess free while still being engaging for those who like to draw.It does have a few limitations that you can expect from such a concept; the pens are a bit "clumsy" feeling to use, the drawings start to fade quickly and you don't get a choice of colour, but instead you get something that's extremely easy to use, has no mess, is re-usable and since our little one has a bit of a habit of chewing her pens, this is a lot safer for her to use too. It's also a great size; much, much bigger than her colouring books while being easy to fold and store away.The unicorn design is really nice and the whole product seems nicely thought-out too, especially with the included stencils and the cute little art manual. It's a great concept and a good alternative to regular pens and paper for the little ones who just want to draw and express themselves a bit without having to deal with mess.

Got this as a gift for a 4 year old. Like that you use the water lens to colour and draw on this. Therefore it is mess free. It also dries back so they can repeat so it lasts longer than a standard crafting or drawing toy and is more environmentally friendly. It is of reasonably quality and the little ones enjoyed the fun side if using the water and the bright unicorns on it.
