Rainbow Carrot Mix - 500 Seeds - Red, Orange, Yellow, White, and Purple Carrots by RDR Seeds

I succession sowed (soil was 1 part sand, 3 parts compost, 1 part vermiculite, 1 part cocoa coir) 3 times in large barrels and germination rate was less than 50%, after thinning them out and waiting for them to mature I was very disappointed with the "assortment". I germinated them indoor then put them out to avoid drying out or weather issues.Of the nearly 30 carrots that grew they 20 of them were bambino orange, only 2 were cosmic purple, 1 atomic red, 7 solar yellow, none of them lunar whites. The other issue was size, after germination I let them grow for about 10 weeks and the carrots never exceeded 5 inches in length of root size and were no thicker than my pinky finger.I admit the assortment issue may have been to thinning however I have never had such an experience with other rainbow mixes before. We have been gardening for years and the probability that thinning led to such an extreme distribution is hard to believe.

Germination rate was literally 2%. Every year we grow carrots in the high country with great success but these seeds were a huge disappointment. Would have been better off buying seeds from home depot. DO NOT BUY!
