GoPro HERO3+ BLACK Edition - Camcorder - (12MP, WiFi)

I guess like many people I've toyed with the idea of buying a GoPro, but as exciting events to film don't happen too often for me I've previously bought a variety of considerably cheaper mini cameras.Alas all have been either very disappointing, have difficult or limited mounting options or simply broken - so wasting over £200...If I'd just bought a GoPro in the first place I'd have actually saved money... And now the top model is less than £270 I took the plunge and bought one, and a storage case, and tripod, and suction mount etc etcNow I've got one I can see what all the fuss is about. What a top quality piece of kit, evolved over many years and obviously heeded feedback to make it what it is today - a little jewel.So after using it for a week or so here's my thoughts:Pros:- super quality throughout- now great value at £270- excellent GoPro app that's a must, to view what the camera see's, quickly change all the settings, review photos and videos- secure mounting system and an endless array of mounting possibilities- large range of video and photo size and quality options- make videos, high quality photos, burst photos (up to 30pics in a sec), time lapse (from 1 to 30 sec increments)- excellent wifi remote that shows the same data on the screen as the camera and allows you to stop start and change all the settings - I've mainly used it for taking photos whilst driving... Very easy to simply press the remote button- impressive battery life when you consider how small the battery is- good sound quality - most other cameras I've tried are poor or simply rubbish- huge amount of ideas and tips on the internetCons:- camera screen and menu system is navigated with just 2 buttons and can take a little getting used to- no built in screen so need to use the GoPro App on an ipad or iPhone for setting up- app video and photo quality is quite poor due to wifi transmission speed limits and the large data size and doesn't show previews of some of the higher quality formats- small removable cover that hides the charging sockets etc is diddly and easy to lose - to be honest I think it's best to leave it off and save it somewhere safe- the best GoPro mounts seem expensive but beware the very cheap ones... Use Amazon or forums and stick to middle priced ones with good feedbackMost of us don't have extreme or exciting lives to constantly video but don't be put off, there's so many other things and interesting shots you can take on country walks, with your pets, driving or cycling etc. the high speed and time lapse modes are especially interesting. Practice with unusual angles and positions and you get a new twist on everyday events.Go ahead and play!

The ultimate selfie-camera with lots of extra functions thrown in.Image quality is fantastic.The Wi-Fi function is for me one of the best functions.The camera looks and feels well made.My unit developed a fault and I had to send it back.I contacted GoPro and they sent me an message back 2 days later asking me to try this and that to fix it.None of these "fixes" worked , so after a few more messages a man with a van came to pick it up.A week later I got a replacement camera which I think is a good service.I think I need a spare battery and memory card.The battery lasts longer than 1.5 hours whilst recording which is about the limit of a 32 GB card.The software also handily splits the data into DVD sized data chunks so archiving is easy.The camera housing is brilliant and even picks up sound with the water-proof door on.I don't like swapping the doors over as it is clicky fit and requires some force.It did not break when I swapped them over but felt like it was going to shatter.Battery charges from flat in about 1.5 hours in the camera.Wi-Fi remote looks nice and is nearly as big as the camera !The free GoPro editing software is easy to use and works with my windows 7 also.Menu navigation is easy once I got used to a 2 button operation.The power button is the "page through" and the capture button is the "select."The free software for cell phones is also a neat trick for stealth photography.Good for in vehicle recording , I like the wide setting for this.The camera no longer works with the application.I suppose they could not be bothered to include old cameras.

The GoPro Hero 3+ is a great camera that hasn't failed to impress with its high quality picture and huge range of applications. As an owner of one of the earlier HD Hero's (version 1) I can say that it has been considerably improved in both size (much smaller and lighter) and in the number of features as well as the image quality.The Wifi powered remote control is a great addition and the use of the iphone app with minimal camera delay makes setting up shots pain free. As others have commented the wifi is a bit of a battery drain though!Videos can be edited with ease on an ipad with imovie or using gopro's pretty decent free software from their website.The only thing holding this camera back from a 5 star rating is that mine was supplied with a few bits of dust behind the actual lens of the camera (not the waterproof housing) which shows a bit of sloppiness with build, in fairness though their support team have offered that if it causes a problem they'll take it in,All in a ll a great buy that i don't regret at all!

It didn't seem that long ago that I was lugging a Canon 3CCD camcorder and all of the associated kit up mountains. The GoPro system is a game changer, build quality is outstanding, footage is fantastic and as far as what you can do with this camera - the only limitations are your own imagination. I've been looking at these cameras for a couple of years and have been holding off hoping for really good HD footage. The Hero 3+ Black Edition does everything I need it to do in a tiny package and at a fraction of the cost of my old Canon behemoth! Yeah, battery life isn't that good (buy some spare batteries), maybe it crashes occasionally and the wide-angle is whacky (but cool) but I just love this little camera. I wonder what they are planning for the Hero 4..?

Mein erstes Exemplar aus der Produktionsserie 12/2013 hatte den bereits genannten Fokusfehler, weshalb ich es leider retournieren musste. Der Fokusfehler war so krass, dass ein einfacher Filmtest das Problem sofort aufzeigte - völlig unscharf in allen Perspektiven. Retournierung bei amazon in der gewohnt professionellen Art und Weise.Mein Tipp: Bei diesem Produkt die Verpackung sehr sorgsam behandeln und das Gerät als Erstes auf korrekten Fokus testen. Zuvor jedenfalls die Firmware upgraden. Ich stelle nach Rückkehr von meinem Urlaub eine Side-To-Side Comparison ins YouTube, diesen Unterschied sieht man auf den ersten Blick. Nochmals Danke an amazon für die problemlose Abwicklung!Das Ersatzprodukt aus dem Produktionsjahr 2014 funktioniert bisher klaglos und liefert mehr als beeindruckende Filme. An der neuen 3+ Serie gefällt vor allem der neue Ultrawide-Modus in 1080p, nach einem Firmware-Upgrade sogar mit 50 fps. Sound und Akkulaufzeit wurden verbessert. Man muss kein Profi sein, um damit in die Urlaubsvideos neuen Pepp reinzubekommen. Weder muss ich einen Lawinenhang mit meinen Schiern hinunterrasen noch mit dem MTB einen Salto Mortale herzeigen - auch sonst gibt es genügend nette Gelegenheiten, zB einen Kopfsprung in den See mitzufilmen oder nette Szenen von einer Bergwanderung.An die Bedienung mit den wenigen Tasten gewöhnte ich mich binnen kurzer Zeit hinein (Foto und Videoerfahrung hilft natürlich). Die Fernbedienung ist ein großes Asset, wenn man die Kamera zB am Helm trägt. Alles an der Kamera wirkt sehr durchdacht und schlüssig. Die Nachbearbeitung am Mac in iMovie ist ebenfalls out of the box möglich, keine weitere Software notwendig. Alles in Allem trotz Anlaufschwierigkeiten volle Punktewertung für ein bereicherndes Produkt, das Spaß macht.

La uso tanto profesionalmente como a nivel particular, y los resultados son increibles. No se puede pedir más versatilidad, tanto por resoluciones como por formatos y FPS disponibles en cada una de ellos. El punto flojo es la iluminación, puesto que en muy bajas iluminaciones la calidad de la grabación se resiente (como cualquier cámara de este tipo).A los que les preocupe la calidad de la imagen, desde hace unos meses se corrigió la producción para que las nuevas series no puedan presentar el problema que algunas de las primeras series presentaban de un desenfoque en la parte izquierda de la imagen. A quien tuvo el problema (conozco a un par) el servicio técnico se las reparó de manera rápida y efectiva. Pero la mía ya llegó sin problema alguno, comprobado por mi mismo, y la calidad y definición de la imagen son inigualables.Eso si, aunque merece la pena su precio por la calidad que ofrece a cambio, sólo se cumple esta premisa si se graba en modo "Protune".Es un modo propio de la cámara, y es el equivalente al formato "crudo" o "raw" de las cámaras reflex digitales. Se puede usar sin usar este formato, al igual que puedes comprarte una reflex digital para disparar en "jpg", pero igual que en ese ejemplo, sólo estarás aprovechando una cuarta parte del portencial en cuanto a calidad y capacidad de edición posterior de la imagen. Usa el "protune", no te arrepentirás.Y para lo que no sabemos nada de edición de vídeo ni queremos perder demasiado tiempo en ello, el "Protune" te da la opción de editar tanto como quieras y de obtener las mejores calidades (incluido mayor rango de colores, mayor profundidad de tonos, vídeo "HDR"...), pero no te pide nada a cambio. Con el propio programa gratuito de GoPro Studio (te lo puedes descargar de la web oficial de GoPro), importas la imagen y la transformas en AVI para procesarla ("Paso 1" del programa), y al pasar al "Paso 2" directamente reconoce que es una imagen "Protune" y le aplica la corrección de "protune" (la podrías seleccionar tú igualmente de manera manual en los "presets"), y ya puedes exportar ("Paso 3" del programa) en la calidad, tamaño y formato que quieras pero con una profunidad de sombras, luces, colores... que ninguna cámara te va a dar.Los que hablan de que las GoPro pecan de calidad en los colores del vídeo es, simplemente, porque no han probado a sacar realmente el rendimiento disponible de la cámara grabando en "protune" y editando de esta manera después.
