I’ve been dying my hair a shade of magenta for quite some time now. Unfortunately, with red shades they fade very quickly and look very messy. For this, I use a professional Wella dye on my roots, bleach the bottom half and then apply this manic panic.It is a beautiful colour. It is more like a stain than a die so make sure you take care to protect your services because it requires bleach based products to get it out. Also make sure you wear gloves because it stains your hands and it takes forever for it to come off. What I do use is alcohol wipes.In order to keep my hair looking fresh, I use this in the shower and leave it on for a minute or so after I have washed my hair which does the trick and means that I don’t have to go through a session which can take hours this manic panic is perfect although I wish the tub was bigger.It leaves your hair feeling well conditioned and looks shiny, it covers well and looks professional.I would say it is quite pricey, but you get what you pay for sometimes you can get a good deal and get two pots for less.

I thought it was going to turn out a dark pink/purple but thankfully it turned out to be a hot pink. It bleeds an insane amount (even through hair dye gloves) so be prepared. A couple of washes since the dye and the colour is still good, but still can leave a pink trail behind (very easily cleaned, not a problem). Would recommend🩷🌺🌷

I decided to try this product because it’s not been tested on animals. I absolutely love the colour and I was super excited to try it?So I took it along to my hairdresser who was very happy to use it. I wanted a bright violet pink feathered into the front of my fridge.My hairdresser pre bleached the section, then washed out the bleached twice to remove all the bleach. Bleach also opens up the hair follicles which help the dye adhere to the hair better too. She applied the dye for 30 mins (the instructions say you can leave it on for longer). Then she washed it and added conditioner.I was blown away with the results, it was absolutely the exact colour as advertised. It was absolutely spectacular, and I absolutely LOVE IT.My hair dresser showed me where the dye had come into contact with my natural grey/white hair which didn’t have any bleach on it. It does dye white hair but the colour isn’t as strong or as vivid but it does take, it’s much more subtle.My advice is, if you want the exact colour as advertised, apply this to pre bleached hair for maximum effect. Look at the video that goes with this product on Amazon too, as they advise that it goes on pre bleached hair.If you have natural white hair and you don’t want to go down the bleached route, you can still use it, I personally would leave it on much longer. Don’t expect it to be super vibrant, you will get a much more muted effect.When the dye starts to eventually fade, dampen down the area, reapply the dye again leave it on the same amount of time, wash and condition the hair again to re fresh the colour.My only disappointment was how very small the container is. In the photo of the product it shows a large container, but I only received a very small one. You don’t need a lot of the product, but I was only having my fridge done. If you are colouring long hair and your whole head too, you may need to buy 2 containers??Discuss this with your hair dresser if in doubt.Also remember to do a pre dye test on your skin before use to make sure you’re not allergic to the product.

Vivid colour. Easy to apply

Colour was initially amazing - my daughter’s hair is light brown so I wasn’t sure how bright it would be but it honestly looked fantastic when it first went on, but…Firstly, it bleeds horribly when even the slightest bit damp. We rinsed like crazy when applying it but even after blow drying, her pillow looked like a someone had been murdered on it the next morning! After the first wash that got a bit better, but…After the first wash the colour faded massively. I would say the vibrancy faded by over half just with one wash. The colour was pretty much gone after three washes. The photos are taken ten days apart!I know it isn’t permanent but we used a different brand of dye that is supposed to last a few weeks (like this one) and that managed at least four weeks before it was gone and at least four washes before there was any real fade.For a one off event where you want to really stand out, this is brilliant, but if (like my daughter) you are hoping for a summer of colour, we just didn’t find it had the staying power.

Works really well

Great hair colour. Looks fabulous when you first colour your hair but washes out and fades quite quickly. I was a bit disappointed, but the jar is big enough for about 4 -5 colours on short hair.
