Great headset with premium feel – minor software issues on PC
I purchased the Razer BlackShark V2 - Special Edition as a gift for my husband, and it was a real hit! The design is sleek and stylish, with a premium look and feel that really stands out compared to other gaming headsets. It was also available at a great price, which made it an even better deal.Performance-wise, the headset delivers very good audio quality. The TriForce 50 mm drivers offer clear, rich sound with good separation between lows, mids, and highs, making it great for both gaming and media consumption. The THX Spatial Audio enhances immersion during gameplay and helps with spatial awareness — a big plus for competitive gaming. The only downside we’ve encountered has to do with the Razer Synapse software on PC. After installation, we noticed some audio issues, including crackling and occasional dropouts. These problems seem to stem from software conflicts or bugs, and although not constant, they are frustrating enough to mention. We hope Razer will address this in a future update.Overall, this is a high-quality, well-designed headset that delivers excellent performance. Just be aware that the companion software may require some troubleshooting on PC. Despite that, it's a fantastic product and made a much-appreciated gift.

Great audio. Superior build quality and material choices sets it apart
Longest-lasting and highest-quality headset I've owned. I have had this for over 2 years, and it still works perfectly despite inevitable accidental instances of it being dropped or yanked out of my PC. There are cheaper options available, but in terms of value, this wins. It is very comfortable to wear. The cable is long enough. It has nice cloth covers for the ears and the headband, which are breathable and feel great; they also haven't cracked like the fake leather material found on most headsets usually does after a while. The sound quality is excellent and can be tweaked to your liking on PC using the Razer synapse app. The mic's good as far as I know, and it's never had issues with echoing or game audio being picked up by the mic. It's easily adjustable. The fact that the mic can be removed is nice.Overall, this is definitely a better option than repeatedly buying cheap headsets, which, in my experience, tend to break even if you look after them.

Decent headset but too much sound isolation for me
The media could not be loaded. I really wanted to like these because I use other Razer products and would prefer to keep my devices in the same software app. However the sound isolation is just far too aggressive for my liking. I generally prefer a more open-back wide soundstage, and I know these are closed-back but some closed are not too bad depending how it's done. They are quite comfortable and fit over the ears nicely, however the clamping force is just a little bit too tight for me personally. Sound is also decent but is definitely tuned more towards competitive gaming rather than a heavy immersive soundstage. However this can be customised with EQ in Synapse and also has many game specific profiles. The mic on the 2023 model is also excellent, definitely a top 3 gaming headset mic.I do like the overall design and the controls on the earcups feel nice and easy to access. I do worry about the long term durability of the thin supports attaching the earcups though.Overall I probably would have kept the headset if it wasn't for the tight sound isolation, I wish Razer would make an open-back version of these. I have recorded a video demonstrating the noise cancelling/sound isolation to give you an idea of what to expect when the earcups are tightly closed on your head.If you don't mind sound isolation either living in a noisy house and want to block out background / stop others hearing your audio, or play competitively and want to fully focus in on game sound, then this headset is probably ideal for you.

Good Quality Headset
The Razer BlackShark V2 Pro (2023) is a stellar wireless gaming headset for PC, delivering exceptional audio, comfort, and microphone performance. Its 50mm TriForce Titanium drivers with THX Spatial Audio provide crisp, immersive sound ideal for esports, while the detachable HyperClear Super Wideband mic ensures crystal-clear communication. With up to 70 hours of battery life. The Software to install is razer synapse i used synapse 3 when I got the headset but now there is razer synapse 4 which aims to be more efficient overall the software choice is user preference. Synapse allows you to tweak headphone settings and microphone settings along with headset profiles. This is the pc headset version I am reviewing so it won't work with the mobile app if you want that get the ps5 version or Xbox version of the headset.
