Q: will 609 help retain an oil seal so it doesn't push out when oil pressure exceeds 60 lbs?

What seal and why are you putting this on it. I have been in the trade for forty years and I have staked a seal not out this on a seal

Q: I have a problem retaining an oil seal at 60lbs pressure. I can't stake it due to its position. Will this product keep the seal in place?

As long as the outer diameter of the seal is steel and the surface is prepped, and it's pressed into some sort of metal casing, it will retain it. ALL Loctite products need metal to fire off the curing process, so if it's a seal that has rubber coating the metal base, it won't work for you.

Q: Will loctite 609 hold a bearing from spinning in the houseing, but can be removed at a laterdate

I have used it in a couple of situations and it is speced by Cummins for some engines to retain the cam gear onto the cam. In all the situations I have used it (including on an Cummins ISX-15) it was not too hard to get the components apart again. I does take a little force to get them to separate but they will.
