A Precision Tool for Gunsmithing
The Wheeler Manual Firearms Accurizing Torque Wrench (F.A.T. Wrench) with Inch/Pounds Measurement, Bits, and Storage Case is a must-have for anyone serious about scope mounting, gunsmithing, or firearm maintenance. I’ve been using this tool to ensure my rifle setups are dialed in, and it’s proven to be a reliable, user-friendly addition to my workbench. What’s to Love: This handheld torque wrench delivers precise, repeatable torque settings from 10 to 65 inch-pounds, adjustable in 5 in-lb increments, with an accuracy of +/- 2 in-lbs up to 40 in-lbs and +/- 5% beyond that. It’s perfect for tightening scope rings, base screws, action screws, and even non-firearm fasteners like bike components. The 1/4" hex drive tip comes with 10 hardened S2 steel bits (including #10, #11, #32 flat blades, 5/32, 7/64, 3/32 hex, T15, T20 Torx, Leupold specialty flat blade, and a hex-to-square adapter), covering most gunsmithing needs. The bits are coated with black phosphate to resist rust, and the magnetized tip keeps them secure during use. The ergonomic rubberized handle reduces hand strain, and the included plastic storage case keeps everything organized. Amazon reviewers rave about its precision, with one stating, “It’s a must for scope mounting—easy to use and very precise”. At $40-$60, it’s a great value compared to pricier alternatives like the Vortex Torque Wrench ($100+).

Electrical panel torque wrench
Make sure your electrical panel is OFF before using this torque wrench on it.After 10 years it was time to retorque the breakers and buss bars on my electrical panel that had been through heat and cold and expansion and contraction. I was adding a circuit and breaker and I got the torque specs from the breakers and panel labels. I purchased a 3" square #2 bit so I wouldn't skin my knuckles working in the panel. I had 3" slotted bits for the buss bar screws. I managed to find multiple screws that were out of spec and correctly tightened them. The torque wrench was easy to use and adjust as I worked. I followed the instructions to put the torque wrench to zero after use. My only issue was with the super magnet that holds the bits in the end. It came loose and pulled out. I got the entire tool replaced by Amazon. The calibration certificate that came with the unit was very close to perfect for electrical work on my 125A electrical panel. Most electricians don't bother with a torque wrench although it is required by the NEC. They will say their hands are calibrated and you make your connections gutentite. I found this tool perfect for the task. Please turn off your main breaker before using this wrench since it is not insulated for electrical work. If you're not comfortable working in an electrical panel you shouldn't be using this tool for that purpose.

Wish it had a digital display
The Wheeler torque wrench delivers consistent, reliable performance for precision gunsmithing tasks. The tool provides clear tactile and audible feedback when reaching the target torque value, making it straightforward to avoid over-tightening sensitive components. The calibration remains stable through extensive use, giving confidence in repeatable results. The included bit set covers all common gunsmithing applications, from scope rings to action screws, with hardened steel construction that resists wear. The storage case is well-organized, keeping everything protected and readily accessible. The ergonomic handle design allows for smooth, controlled torque application, which is crucial for delicate operations.Build quality is impressive at this price point - the all-metal construction feels robust and precise. The adjustable torque settings are clearly marked and the mechanism transitions smoothly between values with positive detents. For scope mounting in particular, it provides the precision needed to ensure proper tension without risking damage to expensive optics. One particularly useful feature is the reversible drive head, making it versatile for different mounting situations. While some may prefer digital tools, the mechanical simplicity of this wrench means there's less that can go wrong when you need it most. For anyone serious about firearm maintenance and assembly, this tool provides professional-grade results with proper technique.

2026 NEC will require Torque-To-Spec. This ¼" hex-drive TTS driver seems good.
I'm an electrician, not a firearms owner, and I needed a reliable, accurate torque screwdriver for terminations.Wheeler Engineering was highly recommended for a good TTS driver without breaking the bank.I just ordered a 2nd one because the first one I ordered got left in another shop that I won't have access to all week, so I figured I might as well get a 2nd dedicated driver that will never leave my toolbox except when in use.The drivers seem well-built, and according to the handwritten torque verification inside, this 2nd one is accurate to an average of +/- 0.01 in-lbs from indicated. Impressive! The ¼" standard hex drive is a really nice, buy easily overlooked feature.I say this because a friend of mine bought the $350 Wiha insulated TTS driver set, and its reciever is SMALLER than ¼", making it useless if you happen to drop the bits in a tight spot...or need to use a bit that they didn't include in the set...you also need a long hex wrench to change the torque setting!!BUT NOT THE WHEELER!👍I'll update this review, once I use it for a few load center panels, and we'll see how it holds up.Edit from 4 to 5 stars. Love the tool, works great and no guessing if you've hit the selected torque.
