If you're looking for accurate Tabs and excellent backing tracks
If you're looking for accurate Tabs and excellent backing tracks, this is it. Use the slow-down software included and learn slow at first, playing along with the backing tracks. Gradually increase your speed until you reach full tempo. I've bought several of these Hal Leonard Play-along series and It's a real blast being able to play your favorite songs.

better than free online guitar tabs
This tab book & play-along CD is not for complete beginners. The songs range in difficulty from moderately-easy to advanced. The included software can slow down or speed up the CD when played on your computer. This is a great bonus, especially useful for learning fast solos. There is a refresher page of the symbols and techniques used in the notation (such as bends, vibrato, pinch harmonics, etc.). Each song is notated in standard notation and tab, and includes lyrics. But the audio on the CD is instruments only - no vocals. I wish it did have vocals, but most guitar play-along CDs don't. That might be a good thing if you want to sing along. A lot of the songs have two guitars (lead and rhythm) but the tab shows one guitar only (usually the lead or main guitar). On the CD, each song comes in two recordings:first: all instruments except vocals (to learn how it's supposed to sound)second: all instruments except vocals and lead guitar (to play along)The sound quality, clarity, and playing is very good as you'd expect from professional session recordings. But I was disappointed that some parts of the guitar playing aren't exactly the same as the original artist's album recording. This is because the transcribers have to use their judgment as to the way it's played in the original, as well as slight differences in playing style, equipment and settings. But overall, I prefer tab books like this to online tabs which can vary greatly in quality.
