The metal is soft, so it may dent if the mallet's wood handle strikes the fork like mine had, although it is barely noticeable. The description claims it is durable steel too, although I think it may be aluminum because of the color and weight. I bought this at the same time as three other tuning forks and this one seemed to be the less well made. This tuning fork in human resonance work use is supposed to be the scanner of tuning forks to diagnose people via reacting to bad sectors in the field. I've used it a few times over the past year just on myself and all seems normal. I could not get any healing benefits out of it, so I will need to use it more, but the price is fairly cheap. It can also be used just as sound to record for video editing or musical effects.

Cheap China Junk.... Would NOT recommend.
Exactly as stated, just cheap junk sent from china. The metal is not of quality and therefore the vibration is more wrong than right. Wrong can cause health problems, while the right frequency has great benefits. Would not recommend.

Frequency is off
I ordered the 432 C tuning fork. It arrived missing the striking mallet and cleaning cloth and most importantly, the frequency is off. I measured using a pano tuner that has been very efficient with my other forks.
