Metal Lead Guitar Vol. 2 Book/Online Audio (The Troy Stetina Series)

Fantastic book and author. Troy's books were instrumental in me becoming a better guitarist and I would love to personally thank him. He is simply the best Rock/metal guitar teacher in the last 20 years. some may argue that his sound does not apply to the metal of today but seriously that is absurd. He gives you the tools to become a great pentatonic, modal player and you can take it to whatever style you want. If you understand the blues and pentatonic scales you have the foundation. Remember Van Halen grew up on Clapton so troy's books are still relevant in today's music more than ever. I guarantee you that if you follow Troy's books you WILL learn to play well and with fire and passion. Make sure you get book 1 before starting this.

The amount of material covered in part II is worth a four year degree at Temple University- I should know. It applies everything you want to know, or never knew was possible. Truly a great and informative lexicon of information. Oh...please buy part I as well. Trust me, it helps :-)

Just what I needed. I'm a fan of this series and like this method. I don't have access to a teacher and Troy's books have helped a lot.

Have had book one for years so getting motivated and finally getting through book 1 I bought this solid follow up. Just starting to chew on it.

these books are the best training device a person could have for guitar, even if you dont like metal these books give info found in all music.

Great series but about time to get rid of the CDs and instead provide a download option from online.

Mittlerweile hab ich alle Metal-Lehrbücher von Troy Stetina. Stellvertretend dafür hier meine Bewertung:Unbedingt zu empfehlen!!!Zwar sind die Hefte teilweise 30 Jahre alt, aber die Spielweise, die Stetina vermittelt, ist so aktuell wie damals. Und was an deutschen Werken später herauskam, lässt erkennen: die haben im besten Fall nur abgeschrieben, oder bieten verwässerte stilübergreifende Häppchen. Tja! -Wie ich übrigens ohne Amazon an die Ware rangekommen wäre, keine Ahnung. Manches kam auch via Auslandsversand bei mir an. Aber alles stets ohne Probleme. Danke! -Die Bücher gibt es nur in englisch. Ob man die Sprache beherrschen muß? Die Stücke/Übungen und die CD sind eigentlich selbsterklärend. -Aber aufpassen beim Selbststudium: Ordentlich durcharbeiten; nicht auf Seite 1 schon nach der letzten schielen! Der Stoff wird anspruchsvoller von Kapitel zu Kapitel.
