I have two. These colour thermometers need USB power and nothing else.Having two I can confirm that they are calibrated the same as they read the same when placed in the same tank. just for you dear reader i got my expensive Thermo Pen One I use for cooking and stuck it in my tanks. KETOTEK Digital Thermometer DC 4V~25V, USB Power Supply Aquarium Thermometer was 23.1 degrees and the Thermo pen said 23 degrees and the same difference in the other tank. If you need more accuracy than that then God help you and your fish. One of my Kekoteks is over two years old. The glow from them is quite comforting or disturbing depending if you like a really dark room. I love it.Bye

I purchased this to display the temperature of the spindle motor on my milling machine, where this is by far the fastest updating temperature display that I've come across (it appears to updates at around 10 times per second), plus it's backlit and asthetically pleasing display. There is also a jumper on the back to select Celsius or Fahrenheit. The power is supplied by a USB cable and the waterproof temperature probe is well sealed and connected to the unit via a cable. I opened up the device to check that it can take a higher voltage as I need to use it on 12V and there is a standard regulator on board so can be used at higher voltages. I highly recommend this display where I will be buying more of these for a solar pool project. I will show this on my YouTube channel when I get it fitted to my mill.

As I said, working within 5 seconds of getting it out of the box.My Only gripe is that I Wish they would do a PC water cooling version with a G 1/4 thread in place of the probe.That would then save me having to splice a G 1/4 probe into it!

Doesn't look great. Looks like it's designed to be mounted or in a casing, but it does the job.

Perfect for reef aquarium water temperature

I've fitted this in my van, as the external temperature display had failed and I didn't want to spend a fortune getting it fixed. It's only been in place for a few days but seems to be doing the job. Easy to read display that comes on as soon as I start the engine - can't grumble for a tenner!

Good clear screen ideal for fishtank

It looks good and was great for 4 months, now it just gives random readings around the 104 Celsius. Purely based on my experience I wouldn't recommend buying it. I'd spend a bit more money and get a better quality one, especially if you have a marine aquarium.

I had to troubleshoot a big class A audio amplifier that we suspected was failing due to overheating.I got several of these thermometers and placed them on the heat sinks and other parts of the circuitry so I was able to get real life measurements easily.I don't know if they are "accurate" since I didn't test them against another type, but the ones I got are consistent, meaning they all measure the same temp under identical conditions.And for macro measurements, such as room temp, they measured the same thing as the thermostat in the AC... so for what it's worth.Plus, oh... yeah... they look cool if you like meters, knobs, switches, lights..... ;-)

Ich benutze dieses Thermometer im Auto und nicht im Aquarium. Durch einen USB Anschluss ist es dezent beleuchtet, aber dennoch sehr gut ablesbar. Die Werte kommen mir sehr realistisch vor, aber natürlich habe ich es noch nicht mit Profi Messgeräten verglichen. Ob es im Auto jetzt 30 Grad ist oder 29 bzw 31 ist mir persönlich relativ egal. Natürlich hat jeder seine eigenen Einsatzzwecke. Eventuell kommt es da exakt genau auf jedes Grad an. Das kann ich wie gesagt nicht 100 Prozent genau sagen. Einfach kaufen und sollte es wirklich abweichen besteht ja Amazon sei Dank die Möglichkeit einer Retoure.
